Anatomy

Our bodies show the experiences we've had as humans rather than define entirely who we are.  There is so much turmoil that can surround the idea of the body... within ourselves as well as our judgements of others.  Maybe we aren't respected because of the body we live in, maybe our body doesn't match the person who lives inside of it, or maybe we're at odds with our body because of an illness or an idea of what it's supposed to do or look like or be.  But we are an entire person in there.
This work has taught me how to respect and value my body and others so much more, and I want it to represent the differences, the amazing details, and the stories that our bodies tell.  For me, in this art (and in life), the "imperfections" and differences of a person are the things that make it all interesting.  
We are all living a life within something that receives feedback from the outside world whether we align with that feedback or not. 
All people and all bodies deserve love, respect, and celebration.
