The valley ring is solid sterling silver with turquoise stone inlay set into the top. The ring was hand carved from wax, then cast into silver through a “lost wax” process.
I have very few cast pieces in my collection of work. Its a process that I recently learned, and am slowly incorporating into my designs.
I didn’t go to school for jewelry. All of the techniques I’ve learned have either been self taught, or shown to me through individual lessons that I take on occasion with my mentor. My first love is fabrication. There’s something about the clean lines, architectural style, and streamlined design that I love.
This ring still incorporates linear detail, but provides a heavy, thick banded style, and a more organic look. Ring is size 6.25
All Hillary West jewelry is handmade with personally cut stone for inlay, or carefully chosen stones from fellow lapidary artists, or local mines. Every piece is one of a kind, uses recycled metals, conflict free diamonds, and holds its own personal story. If a piece calls to you, I truly believe that it guided me in its creation, knowing what your spirit was looking for.
