The Face of Hillary West.
HILLARY WEST VALUES
Undeniable quality
Artistic intentionality
Ethics and sustainability
Raw authenticity

Through experience, we self-realize.
Not always are our moments of realizations pleasant, nor are they ever meant to be terrible.

But in
Art, to me, is interpretive life… an expressionist work of what we go through, what we see, what we feel, what we want. This is what I want. To take my heart and let the blood overflow into artistry.

I grew up in the desert southwest.
Mountains behind the house, a river in front, coyote howls at night, radiating mirages, desert bonfires, sandstone cliffs, and a wardrobe consisting of primarily bathing suits.
The desert is unlike any place I’ve ever been. She feels like an ancient, copper painted canvas that has threaded through her design a mystery, and when looked upon, can be felt at the center of your body, radiating wisdom out to your edges.
She challenges our senses and asks us to intently listen. She is still, yet stormy and infinitely detailed. She is raw, yet poised. She is dark, yet familiar, vast and expansive yet contained.
She is old, yet far more vivacious than we, and she easily communicates her desires.

My work is inspired by my relationship with her, and the ways she holds us.
Rooted as a land before time, and guiding us into the future. Raw, rough, delicate and fierce, elegant, feminine, and screaming, the jewelry I create speaks the duality that we all hold in us.
Each piece is made with components of solid and soft energies, and begins as a dream or vision of what the person who it is meant for is asking.

“Hillary is gifted in reading a person’s spirit and creating a piece of art that fits into her journey in the most magical ways. The bracelet Hillary created for me tells the story of serendipity that weaves its way through generations. She’s an exceptional artist and an extraordinary woman.”
